Born on December 14, 1995, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Herieth Paul spent her early childhood in East Africa before relocating to Ottawa, Canada, at age 14 due to her mother's work as a diplomat for the Tanzanian High Commission. Shortly after arriving in Canada, she attended an open casting call at Angie's AMTI, a local modeling agency in Ottawa. Her striking features and 5-foot-11 stature immediately caught the attention of agency talent scouts. In mid-2010, at just 14 years old, she signed with Women Management in New York City, launching her international career.

Paul made her major runway debut during the Spring/Summer 2011 fashion week season. She quickly became a sought-after face for luxury brands, walking the runway for high-fashion labels including Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Lacoste, and Diane von Fürstenberg.
