Hamish Blake

Hamish Donald Blake, born 11 December 1981, is an Australian comedian, television and radio presenter, actor, and author. He is best known for his collaboration with Andy Lee as part of the comedy duo Hamish and Andy, formed in 2003. Together, the pair have performed live, on television, and on radio, notably hosting their drive-time radio program Hamish & Andy. As a solo performer, Blake has also featured regularly on numerous Australian television programs.

Blake grew up in the Melbourne suburb of Glen Waverley as the middle child of parents Noel and Kerry. He attended Glen Waverley South Primary School, Caulfield Grammar School, and St Leonard's College, graduating in 1999. During the late 1980s, he was a member of the National Boys Choir of Australia. After a gap year, Blake enrolled at the University of Melbourne in a Science/Commerce double degree. A few weeks into the semester, he met Andy Lee and eventually dropped out of university to pursue a career in comedy.

Blake and Lee began working together in 2003, performing a breakout show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They subsequently trained with SYN Radio and created a show called Radio Karate for Channel 31, which won an Antenna Award for best comedy program in 2004. They briefly hosted a national show on the Seven Network in 2005, and later created a short film titled The Greystone 2800, which won the Melbourne Comedy Festival Short Film competition. This led to appearances on Rove Live and the development of the 2006 mock current affairs series Real Stories on Network Ten.

In 2006, Blake and Lee debuted their national drive-time radio show Hamish & Andy on the Today Network, which grew to achieve top ratings across Australia's major capital cities and regional centers. The duo also made guest appearances on television programs such as Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, Neighbours, Good News Week, and The Project. Blake is also a founding member of the band Coolboys and the Frontman alongside Lee and Jack Post.

As a solo performer, Blake has appeared on Australian programs such as Spicks and Specks, Thank God You're Here, Rove, and The Footy Show, as well as the British version of Thank God You're Here. He wrote columns for Cosmopolitan and the Herald Sun, co-authored the book Textbook Romance with his wife, Zoë Foster Blake, starred in the 2012 feature film Two Little Boys, and appeared in the comedy series Twentysomething.

In 2019, Blake joined the Nine Network as the host of the reality competition series Lego Masters Australia, later hosting the spinoff Lego Masters Bricksmas Specials. In October 2022, he launched a parenting podcast titled How Other Dads Dad with Hamish Blake.

Blake and Lee won a Logie Award in 2012 for their program Hamish and Andy's Gap Year. Individually, Blake won the Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television in 2012 and 2022, and received the TV Week Bert Newton Award for most outstanding presenter in 2022. He married Zoë Foster in 2012, and they have two children, Sonny and Rudy.
