Gracie Abrams

Gracie Madigan Abrams is an American singer and songwriter. After signing with Interscope Records in 2019, she gained public attention through a series of initial extended plays and singles. Recognized for her work across pop, bedroom pop, and indie folk styles, she has earned major industry honors, released multiple studio albums, and toured extensively as both a headlining artist and a supporting act on major global concert tours.

Abrams was born on September 7, 1999, in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood. She is the daughter of filmmaker J. J. Abrams and producer Katie McGrath, the granddaughter of producers Gerald W. Abrams and Carol Ann Abrams, and has two brothers. Her ancestry includes Ashkenazi Jewish heritage on her father's side and Irish Catholic roots on her mother's side. Developing a passion for music at an early age, she began writing songs when she was eight. She graduated from The Archer School for Girls in 2018 and subsequently attended Barnard College in New York City to study international relations, though she paused her education after her first year to pursue music full-time.

Abrams officially launched her recording career with the release of her debut single, Mean It, in October 2019. She released her first extended play, Minor, in July 2020, followed by her second EP, This Is What It Feels Like, in November 2021. To promote her music, she embarked on a concert tour in early 2022 and served as an opening act for Olivia Rodrigo's Sour Tour. In February 2023, Abrams issued her debut studio album, Good Riddance, which was accompanied by her own headlining tour and opening performances on Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. Later that year, she achieved her first US Billboard Hot 100 entry through a featured role on a remix of Noah Kahan's Everywhere, Everything.

In June 2024, Abrams released her second studio album, The Secret of Us, which debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart. The project featured the track Us, a duet with Taylor Swift, as well as singles such as Risk, Close to You, I Love You, I'm Sorry, and That's So True, the latter of which achieved strong global chart performance. She supported the release with an extended tour running through 2025. Abrams released her third studio album, Daughter from Hell, in July 2026, supported by the singles Hit the Wall and Look at My Life.

Over the course of her career, Abrams has earned several prestigious nominations and accolades, including a nomination for Best New Artist at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, a Best Pop Duo/Group Performance nomination for her work with Swift, and the award for New Artist of the Year at the 2025 American Music Awards. Beyond recording, she has participated in promotional campaigns for brands including Pandora, Tumi, and Chanel, and signed with Creative Artists Agency ahead of her feature acting debut in the film Please.

Abrams frequently uses her public platform to advocate for social and political issues. She has voiced support for reproductive freedom, contributed proceeds from merchandise sales to abortion funds, joined the Artists4Ceasefire collective, and released a charity single benefiting Everytown for Gun Safety. She also endorsed and performed on behalf of Kamala Harris during the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign. In her personal life, Abrams was previously in a relationship with producer Blake Slatkin from 2017 to 2022, and began dating actor Paul Mescal in 2024.
