Fehinti Balogun

Fehinti Balogun is a British Nigerian actor and climate activist who works across stage, television, and film. He is known for his roles in prominent theatrical plays, major television dramas, and feature films, as well as his public advocacy surrounding environmental issues.

Balogun received his professional acting education at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, from which he graduated in 2016. He began his professional stage career the following year in 2017, taking on his initial theatre role in a production mounted by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Following his graduation and initial stage appearance, he went on to perform in an Old Vic production of King Lear.

Balogun's work in theatre grew with further high-profile engagements. In 2021, he performed as the character Bryan alongside actress Gemma Arterton in the play Walden, presented at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

Later in 2021, Balogun wrote and served as the central performer for Can I Live?, a stage production centred on the topic of climate change. The project was produced by the theatre company Complicité in association with the Barbican, with support provided by the Oxford Playhouse. Integrating a combination of hip-hop music, spoken word performance, and dance, the production was directed by Daniel Bailey alongside co-director Simon McBurney, with musical direction handled by Khalil Madovi.

Balogun has also built a diverse screen career in television and cinema. He portrayed the character Damon in Michaela Coel's television drama series I May Destroy You, and appeared in the ITVX series Viewpoint. His film credits include a role in Denis Villeneuve's 2021 feature film Dune. On television, he also played Bjorn in Joe Barton's Netflix series titled The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself.

In 2024, Balogun appeared in the Paramount+ television adaptation of A Gentleman in Moscow, portraying the character Mishka alongside lead actor Ewan McGregor. He followed this in 2025 with a role as Amos in the Apple TV+ series adaptation of Mick Herron's novel Down Cemetery Road, appearing opposite Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson.

Balogun received critical recognition for his performance in Down Cemetery Road. Writing for the Radio Times, critic Morgan Cormack praised his portrayal of Amos, questioning whether the character represented a compelling television villain who combined dark humor, slickness, and ruthlessness. This role earned Balogun a nomination in the supporting actor category at the British Academy Television Awards.

Parallel to his artistic career, Balogun maintains active involvement in environmental activism. As a climate campaigner, he has delivered presentations at significant international and academic forums, including the United Nations COP26 climate summit, the Scottish Parliament, Cambridge University, and the YouTube Creator Summit. His future projects include an upcoming role in the London-set feature film The Roots Manoeuvre, directed by Raine Allen-Miller.
