Diana Lee Inosanto

Diana Lee Inosanto is an American performer, filmmaker, martial artist, and former stunt professional. She has worked across television, film, and theatre in various capacities, including acting, directing, producing, and fight choreography. She is widely recognized for portraying the character Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth across multiple screen projects set within the Star Wars media franchise.

Raised in an environment deeply connected to martial arts, Inosanto received training in disciplines such as Jeet Kune Do and Eskrima. She was taught by her father, Dan Inosanto, who studied under Jeet Kune Do creator Bruce Lee, who was also her godfather. Throughout her martial arts career, she has been featured on the covers of industry publications, including Black Belt Magazine, Inside Karate, Martial Arts, Self Defense, and Inside Kung Fu.

Inosanto began her career in film and television during the late 1980s and 1990s, engaging in stunt work, action choreography, and acting roles. Her stunt credits include major feature films such as Barb Wire, Face/Off, Red Corner, Blade, Mystery Men, and Wild Wild West, alongside television shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Walker, Texas Ranger, and Star Trek: Enterprise. Additionally, she served as a martial arts instructor and fight choreographer on films including Resident Evil: Apocalypse, I, Frankenstein, and Spy.

Beyond her stunt work, Inosanto expanded into writing, producing, and directing. She made her directorial debut with the 2008 independent film The Sensei, which she also wrote, produced, and starred in. In theatrical arts, she has been active with Southern California organizations such as the Lodestone Theatre Ensemble. In 2008, she worked with East West Players as the martial arts choreographer for the premiere of Dan Kwong's stage production Be Like Water.

In 2020, Inosanto joined the cast of the Disney series The Mandalorian as Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth. She later returned to the role for the live-action series Ahsoka and the animated series Star Wars: Tales of the Empire. That same year, she published her first children's book, titled The Curious Mind of Sebastian, and authored the foreword for Fiaz Rafiq's biographical book Bruce Lee: The Life of a Legend.

Inosanto was honored as Woman of the Year by Black Belt Magazine in 2009 for her achievements in the martial arts community. In her personal life, she is married to martial artist Ron Balicki, and the couple has two children.
