Derek Cecil

Derek Cecil is an American actor known for his roles across various television series. He gained widespread recognition for portraying Seth Grayson in the Netflix political drama series House of Cards.

Cecil was born in Amarillo, Texas, on January 5, 1973. He attended William H. Taft High School in San Antonio, Texas, before pursuing higher education in performance. He went on to graduate from both the University of Houston and the American Conservatory Theater.

Over the course of his acting career, Cecil secured featured roles in several television productions. Early in his career, he starred in the short-lived series Push, Nevada and The Beat. He also made multiple guest appearances on the series Pasadena.

Cecil continued to build his television resume with recurring and notable appearances in later projects. Among these was his work on the action-drama series Banshee. Additionally, he appeared in the Showtime series Black Monday, where he played the role of Detective Lester.
