Early Life and Educational Background

Wilkerson spent her upbringing along the South Texas coast before moving to Fort Worth for her studies. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in business management. Shortly after completing her degree, she and her husband bought a house that required extensive work and furnishings. Facing a limited budget, Wilkerson decided to learn how to handle power tools and construct the items she needed herself, documenting her initial building attempts on a personal blog in early 2013.
