Richardson was born in Canada to a British family and grew up in Derbyshire, England. Raised in an itinerant family, he lived in numerous locations during his childhood. At age eleven, he attended the Royal Ballet School in London, where he trained in classical dance. He later shifted his artistic focus toward theatre, studying acting at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan and subsequently earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Theatre Accomplishments

Richardson made his professional theatre debut starring as Sky Masterson in Sir Nicholas Hytner’s immersive 2023 revival of Guys & Dolls at the Bridge Theatre in London. His charismatic breakthrough performance earned him a nomination for the Emerging Talent Award at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards. He continued to build his London stage reputation by starring as Astrov in Trevor Nunn's staging of Uncle Vanya at the Orange Tree Theatre, as well as portraying the dual roles of Oberon and Theseus in the Royal Shakespeare Company production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Barbican Theatre, garnering an Ian Charleson Award nomination in 2025.

Film and Television Career

On screen, Richardson made his feature film debut in the World War II drama A Call to Spy (2019). He followed this with roles in feature films including Killer Among Us (2021), The Independent (2022), Martin Eden, and the comedy Daughter of the Bride (2023). On television, his credits include appearances on Apple TV+'s Extrapolations, TBS's The Last O.G., Fox's Fantasy Island, and a recurring role in the Peacock spy series Ponies alongside Emilia Clarke. In 2025, he was cast in the major series regular role of Anárion for the third season of Amazon Prime Video's high-fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
