Wayne Carpendale

Wayne Howard Carpendale is a German actor and television presenter born on March 3, 1977, in Frechen, Germany. He is the son of pop singer Howard Carpendale and has established a career working across German television series, films, and broadcast entertainment programs.

Carpendale spent part of his youth attending the Stowe boarding school in Buckingham, England, from 1992 to 1995, where he earned an English university entrance qualification. His initial involvement in performing occurred at Stowe when he participated in a school production of the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Following high school, he studied business administration at the Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU) in Vallendar and earned his intermediate diploma at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster. He ultimately left his studies after completing his intermediate diploma to pursue acting, enrolling in acting classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York in 1999.

Carpendale gained initial public recognition through the soap opera Unter uns, where he played the character Maximilian Pfitzer from February 2000 to October 2001. During this period, he also appeared in the hospital series Alphateam – Die Lebensretter im OP and other television projects such as Die Kristallprinzessin. In 2003, he performed as Old Surehand at the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg.

From November 2005 to May 2007, Carpendale starred in a main role in the ARD series Storm of Love, appearing in 60 episodes until his character was killed off. He returned to the show from late 2007 through April 2008 to portray his deceased character's twin brother. In 2006, he played Dirk Scheerer on Unser Charly and took the male lead in the Rosamunde Pilcher television film Die Liebe ihres Lebens, directed by Michael Steinke. Between January 2009 and May 2013, Carpendale starred as the title character Dr. Jan Bergmann in the series The Country Doctor, while also making guest appearances in other shows.

In 2006, Carpendale participated in the first season of the RTL competition show Let's Dance alongside Swedish professional dancer Isabel Edvardsson. The pair won the competition by defeating actress Wolke Hegenbarth and her partner Oliver Seefeldt in the final. In the summers of 2013 and 2014, Carpendale returned to the Karl May Festival to play the lead role of Old Shatterhand.

Carpendale expanded his work into television hosting starting in late 2006, when he co-hosted the Saturday evening show Dancing on Ice on RTL alongside Mirjam Weichselbraun. Beginning in July 2014, he hosted the new edition of Deal or No Deal, followed by Nur die Liebe zählt from December 2014 to February 2015. He also presented Keep Your Money, a new version of Rette die Million!, and began hosting Superkids – Die größten kleinen Talente der Welt on September 11, 2015. In 2016, he co-hosted two seasons of the show Ran an den Mann with his wife.

Following a three-year relationship with Yvonne Catterfeld from 2004 to 2007, Carpendale began dating presenter Annemarie Warnkross in November 2007. The couple married in September 2013 and have a son named Mads.
