Tucker Pillsbury

Tucker Harrington Pillsbury, born on May 15, 1997, is an American singer and songwriter professionally recognized by his stage name Role Model. He gained initial online attention following the self-release of his debut extended play in 2017, leading to a record deal with Interscope Records. His body of work includes several extended plays as well as full-length studio albums such as Rx, Kansas Anymore, and Chuck Timely & the Hourglass.

Raised in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Pillsbury was born to Susan, a local special education teacher, and Rusty, a real estate appraiser. During his childhood, he developed an interest in music by mimicking Elvis Presley performances for his family. He pursued film studies throughout high school and later relocated to Pittsburgh in 2014 to attend Point Park University. While at college, consecutive skiing and skateboarding accidents left him with severe wrist injuries. While recovering in his dormitory, he began experimenting with recording software and music gear left behind by friends, producing early rap mixtapes before abandoning his studies due to declining grades.

Pillsbury launched his recording career in 2016 under the mononym Tucker, releasing the mixtape Since When. He subsequently adopted the moniker Dillis, issuing the independent album Moth and opening for act Jordan Capozzi on tour. By late 2017, he permanently adopted the moniker Role Model and transitioned from hip-hop to pop singing. He self-recorded the EP Arizona in the Summer inside a closet, earning a significant digital fanbase. The release attracted the attention of late rapper Mac Miller, who invited him to Los Angeles for collaborative work. Pillsbury officially signed with Interscope Records in 2018.

Over the following years, Pillsbury released a series of singles and extended plays, including Oh, How Perfect in 2019 and Our Little Angel in 2020. He launched his first headlining concert series, the Far from Perfect Tour, in late 2019. In April 2022, he issued his full-length debut record, Rx, supported by singles such as "If Jesus Saves, She's My Type" and "Neverletyougo." His second album, Kansas Anymore, arrived in July 2024, followed by an expanded deluxe version in early 2025 featuring the popular track "Sally, When the Wine Runs Out."

Beyond his solo headlining work, Pillsbury joined Gracie Abrams as an opening act on her North American tour in 2024 and was scheduled for additional tour dates in 2025. In October 2025, he made a national television appearance as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live. He expanded into acting after securing a role in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy Good Sex, set for release in 2027. His achievements were recognized at the ninth annual Variety Hitmakers Awards, where he received the Triple Threat of the Year title, and he later performed at the 2026 NHL Winter Classic ahead of a fall 2026 North American tour.

Pillsbury's musical style incorporates elements of pop and bedroom pop, often featuring acoustic guitar and confessional lyrics touching on personal relationships, intimacy, and mental health. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age ten, he has frequently discussed his experiences with depression throughout his career. Based in Hollywood, Pillsbury was previously in high-profile relationships with influencer Emma Chamberlain and actress Dakota Johnson.
