Stephen Sanchez

Stephen Christopher Sanchez is an American singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on November 3, 2002, he achieved major international recognition following the release of his hit single "Until I Found You." Throughout his career, Sanchez released two full-length studio albums, several extended plays, and numerous singles, building a distinct presence in modern music before announcing a career pause in mid-2026.

Sanchez was raised in El Dorado Hills, California, in the Sacramento metropolitan area, and graduated from Oak Ridge High School. His first teenage job was at a local shopping center steakhouse. Later in life, Sanchez met his fiancée, Devi Tuil, while performing a concert in France. The couple eventually settled in East Nashville, and Sanchez proposed to Tuil on Christmas Eve 2025 at his grandparents' home.

His music career gained momentum in June 2020 after he shared a cover of Cage the Elephant's "Cigarette Daydreams" on TikTok, where he eventually built an audience exceeding 122,000 followers. After posting a snippet of "Lady by the Sea," singer-songwriter Jeremy Zucker produced the full track, released in July 2020. This success led to a deal with Republic Records. Partnering with producer Ian Fitchuk, Sanchez debuted his first extended play, What Was, Not Now, in October 2021.

In September 2021, Sanchez put out "Until I Found You," reaching number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 8 on Australia's ARIA Chart, and number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2023, the single earned nominations for Top Rock Song at the Billboard Music Awards and Push Performance of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards. Sanchez was also nominated for New Artist of the Year at both the iHeartRadio Music Awards and People's Choice Awards. Subsequent singles included "Missing You" with Ashe, "Evangeline," and "Only Girl."

Sanchez issued his debut studio album, Angel Face, in September 2023, followed by a deluxe version in April 2024. In June 2023, he joined Elton John on stage at Glastonbury to sing "Until I Found You." He also contributed "Baby Blue Bathing Suit" to the Disney+ documentary The Beach Boys and voiced the character Cal on Lin-Manuel Miranda's 2024 concept album The Warriors. In November 2025, Sanchez and Tuil released a collaborative three-track EP under the name Dress & Tie.

In early 2026, Sanchez released "Sweet Love," debuted at the Grand Ole Opry, performed at Capital's Summertime Ball, and released his second album, Love, Love, Love. However, in June 2026, he cancelled his Sing Love Again Tour and announced a hiatus, citing creative burnout, frustration with the music industry, and social media pressures. Stylistically, his music evolved from acoustic-focused early EPs to 1950s and 1960s-inspired rock on Angel Face, and ultimately to a brighter, technicolor pop sound on Love, Love, Love.
