Ryn Weaver

Aryn Wüthrich, professionally known as Ryn Weaver, is an American pop singer-songwriter. She first gained wide attention in June 2014 following the release of her single "OctaHate," which was described by Billboard as a viral sensation. Beyond her own solo recording career, she has also co-written tracks for other musical artists, including JoJo's 2015 single "When Love Hurts" and the 2019 collaboration "Dream Glow" by BTS and Charli XCX.

Weaver was born as Erin Wüthrich on August 10, 1992, in Encinitas, California. She was raised by her mother, Cynthia, and her father, Maxwell "Max" Wüthrich, who worked as an architect. Her family background includes Irish, Swiss, German, and Ukrainian ancestry, and she grew up alongside three brothers named Parker, Taylor, and Christopher. At a young age, she chose to alter the spelling of her first name from Erin to Aryn, claiming the original spelling was ordinary and did not suit her. Her stage surname, Weaver, was adopted from her mother's maiden name.

During her early life, Weaver explored multiple creative disciplines while attending Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego, California. There, she spent years learning music, musical theater, painting, and acting. Following high school, she relocated to New York City to attend college and pursue an acting career, enrolling at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. However, she eventually dropped out of the program and moved back to California.

Weaver's music career began to take shape after she briefly met music producer Benny Blanco in New York. A few years later, the two reconnected at Blanco's birthday party in Los Angeles through a mutual friend. Blanco subsequently signed Weaver to his imprint, Friends Keep Secrets, under Interscope Records. On June 21, 2014, Weaver posted her debut single, "OctaHate," on her SoundCloud account.

"OctaHate" rapidly gained widespread attention, receiving public notice within hours from notable artists such as Charli XCX, Charlie Puth, Harry Styles, Jessie Ware, and Hayley Williams of Paramore. On June 25, 2014, the song reached number one on the Billboard Emerging Artists Chart. Shortly after, Weaver released her debut extended play, titled Promises, as a digital download on August 12, 2014.

On June 16, 2015, Weaver released her debut studio album, titled The Fool, through Mad Love and Interscope Records. The album sold 13,800 units during its first week of release. In support of her work, Weaver performed live at the Lollapalooza festival on August 1, 2015, and at Billboard's first Hot 100 Festival on August 23, 2015.

Following a three-year gap after her debut album, Neon Gold released Weaver's demo single titled "Reasons Not to Die" on September 14, 2018. She returned with new music in 2025, releasing the single "Odin St." on June 16, 2025—the tenth anniversary of The Fool—and confirming that she was working on a sophomore album. This was followed by another single, titled "Rorschach Baby," released on August 8, 2025.
