Freja Beha Erichsen

Freja Beha Erichsen, also known as Freja Beha, is a Danish model born on October 18, 1987. Originating from Roskilde, Denmark, she attended Frederiksberg Gymnasium high school. Recognized for her distinct androgynous look, she earned the nickname "Queen of Cool" in the fashion industry and became known as one of the muses of the late designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Erichsen was discovered on the streets of Denmark by a passing modeling agent. She made her runway debut in 2005 during the fall Paris and Milan fashion shows, walking for Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Miu Miu, opening the show for the latter. Following her debut, she continued to walk runways across New York, Paris, Milan, and London in both Ready-to-wear and Haute Couture seasons.

Throughout her career, Erichsen has walked for numerous luxury houses, including Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Versace, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, and Yves Saint Laurent. Her editorial work spans international editions of Vogue, including American, French, Italian, British, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Russian editions, alongside publications such as Interview, W, Harper's Bazaar, i-D, V, and Numéro. She has also appeared on the covers of British, French, and Italian Vogue, Korean Numéro, i-D, V, and W.

In addition to runway appearances, Erichsen has starred in advertising campaigns for brands such as Chanel, Gucci, Balenciaga, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Chloé, and Calvin Klein. She served as the face of fragrances including Calvin Klein IN2U, Valentino's Valentina, and Gucci by Gucci, appearing in a David Lynch-directed television commercial alongside Natasha Poly and Raquel Zimmermann. Several fashion items have been named after her, such as the Jill Stuart Freja handbag, the Chloé Freja clutch, and the Alexander Wang Freja Lace-Up Stiletto Boot.

Erichsen was ranked second on models.com's Top 50 Models Women list alongside Natasha Poly, and was later listed as an Industry Icon by the site in 2013. Vogue Paris named her one of the top thirty models of the 2000s. Her notable work also includes appearing in the 2011 Pirelli Calendar shot by Karl Lagerfeld and gracing one of three May UK Vogue covers celebrating the British royal wedding, which marked the publication's first multi-cover in its 95-year history.

In 2020, Erichsen appeared in the Prada Fall-Winter campaign, and in 2022, she made a cameo appearance as Bente in the Swedish Netflix miniseries Clark. She resides in New York City, is a lesbian, and enjoys listening to music by PJ Harvey, Janis Joplin, Jeff Buckley, and Kira and the Kindred Spirits.
