Dustin Poirier

Dustin Glenn Poirier is an American professional mixed martial artist who gained international prominence competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Fighting predominantly in the lightweight and featherweight divisions, he earned a reputation as one of the most entertaining and durable strikers in modern combat sports, winning numerous Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night honors throughout his career.

Raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Poirier began his professional mixed martial arts career in 2009. After competing in regional promotions and World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC), he joined the UFC roster when the two organizations merged. He spent early years in the featherweight division before moving to lightweight, where he established himself as a top contender through victories over high-profile opponents. In April 2019, Poirier captured the interim UFC Lightweight Championship with a victory over Max Holloway.
