D'Amelio grew up in Connecticut as the elder daughter of Marc and Heidi D'Amelio. She attended the King School in Stamford, participating in sports such as field hockey before pursuing a digital career. She began sharing content on Instagram in 2015 and later joined TikTok in late 2019. Quickly building a dedicated audience with relatable lifestyle posts, comedic clips, and collaborative videos, she briefly joined the popular creator collective Hype House in 2020 alongside her sister, establishing herself as a major force on social platforms.
