The Gentlemen is Guy Ritchie’s Netflix crime series, expanding the world of his 2019 feature film. The story follows Eddie Horniman (Theo James), who unexpectedly inherits his late father’s dukedom and a sprawling English country estate — only to discover a vast cannabis empire operating beneath the grounds, run by the Glass family. Pulled into the criminal underworld, the straight-laced new aristocrat has to hold his own among gangsters and blue-bloods alike, working alongside the sharp, unflappable Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario).
Season 2 premieres September 3, 2026. It picks up roughly a year after Eddie and Susie joined forces. As the pair push to expand the operation, the increasingly unsound decisions of Susie’s imprisoned father, Bobby, threaten everything they’ve built — leaving Eddie and Susie to decide whether to take action or risk losing it all. Ritchie returns as creator, and the show’s trademark blend of crackling dialogue, style and dark humour carries over.
There’s already more to come: ahead of the Season 2 launch, Netflix renewed The Gentlemen for a third season — a clear vote of confidence before the new episodes have even dropped.
The renewal also arrived alongside a widely-circulated rumour: that producers had “eyed” Meghan Markle for a role, with early-stage talks reported. It was never confirmed by Netflix or by Markle, and follow-up reporting suggested the idea did not move forward — unverified industry chatter rather than a done deal.
