Born on March 21, 2000, in Woodbridge, Virginia, Richman grew up in a creative household supported by a father who taught drums and a legally deaf mother. He developed an early interest in vocal performance during childhood, taking formal voice lessons and training in classical opera under Cynthia Hoffmann at the Manhattan School of Music.
Richman began his career by independently sharing his compositions online, launching his debut track "Ballin' Stalin" on SoundCloud and Spotify in 2016. Over the following years, he experimented across several genres, including R&B and punk rock, releasing various songs and short projects. After his single "Pleasantville" gained positive reception, he made the decision to leave college during his second year to focus entirely on pursuing music full-time. In 2022, he issued his initial EP, titled Paycheck, and relocated from Virginia to settle in Los Angeles, California.
His career accelerated in 2023 after signing with the independent record label ISO Supremacy, founded by Brent Faiyaz, in a joint deal with Pulse Records. That same year, Richman joined Faiyaz on the F*ck the World, It's a Wasteland Tour as an opening act and featured on the track "Upset" from Faiyaz's mixtape, Larger than Life.
In April 2024, Richman began sharing promotional snippets for his upcoming single "Million Dollar Baby" on TikTok. The preview videos quickly gained millions of views, building anticipation for the track's official release later that month. Upon its release on April 26, 2024, the song generated 38 million streams and entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number two. It also achieved the top spot on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart. He followed this success with the single "Devil Is a Lie," which reached the top 40 on the national chart.
Richman formally released his inaugural full-length studio album, Coyote, on September 27, 2024, through ISO Supremacy and Pulse Records. The album debuted at number ten on the Heatseekers chart, notably excluding his previously successful 2024 standalone singles.
