Tara Lynn

Tara Lynn is an American plus-size model who is best known for her work as a lingerie model for plus-size clothing. Through her editorial appearances and commercial campaigns, she has established a prominent presence in the fashion industry and became widely recognized as one of the leading faces of plus-size modeling.

Lynn was born on July 26, 1982, in Tacoma, Washington, where she was also raised. During her high school years, she wore a clothing size of 14/16, which corresponds to a United Kingdom size of 18–20. Reflecting on her youth, she recalled experiencing bullying as a teenager due to her size. She noted that as a size 16, she felt her weight was holding her back in an environment that expected protruding bones, which did not align with her natural body type.

Lynn first drew widespread attention within the fashion world following her appearance in V magazine and her feature in a plus-size fashion shoot for French Elle. These early fashion shoots brought her significant exposure and marked a key turning point in her modeling career.

Following her initial breakthrough, Lynn was featured on the covers of several major international publications. In July 2010, she appeared on the cover of the Spanish magazine XL-Semanal, and in June 2011, she was featured on the cover of Vogue Italia. Her editorial work from this period also includes features in Time magazine in 2010, Elle-Québec, and Glamour. Additionally, she appeared on the covers of various issues of Lucky Fall Jeans' promotional magazine.

Beyond her print editorials, Lynn expanded her commercial career by appearing in advertising campaigns for the clothing retailer H&M. Her status in the industry was further highlighted when she served as the cover girl for Elle, where her photograph was presented alongside the tagline "The Body." The tagline implied that her figure represented a shape women should aspire to, rather than a traditionally slim frame. Following that appearance, Lynn firmly established her place as one of the recognizable faces representing plus-size modeling.
