Sarah Rose Summers

Sarah Rose Summers Combs is an American beauty pageant titleholder who achieved national recognition after being crowned Miss USA 2018. Her victory marked a historic milestone, as she became the first contestant representing Nebraska to take the national title. Following her win, she represented the United States on the international stage at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant, where she finished among the top 20 finalists.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Summers spent her youth in Papillion within the Omaha–Council Bluffs area. During her early childhood at age four, she was hospitalized following a diagnosis of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. She later attended Papillion-La Vista South High School, graduating in 2013. Summers continued her education at Texas Christian University, where she joined the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and earned two bachelor's degrees cum laude in 2017, focusing on child development and strategic communication with a minor in business. Before her major pageant success, she worked professionally as a certified child life specialist.

Summers began participating in beauty pageants at the age of ten after urging her parents to let her enter a local youth competition. Her early career yielded significant local and national success, including winning National American Miss Nebraska Junior Teen in 2009 and subsequently capturing the national title of National American Miss Junior Teen for 2009–2010. She later secured the Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2012 title and represented her state at the Miss Teen USA 2012 pageant held in the Bahamas, though she did not place. Following a break from pageantry and a previous attempt in 2016, she competed as Miss Omaha and won Miss Nebraska USA 2018.

Her state victory qualified her for the Miss USA 2018 pageant in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she won the national title ahead of the first runner-up from North Carolina and second runner-up from Nevada. To focus on her national responsibilities, she relinquished her state title to a successor. Later that year, she traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, to represent the United States at Miss Universe 2018, competing in a national costume designed around a red rose. Outside of pageantry, she appeared in a Sherri Hill fashion show during New York Fashion Week in September 2019 and officially concluded her reign as Miss USA in May 2019.

Following her time as Miss USA, Summers expanded into media by hosting a podcast titled More Than A Crown, which aired from 2019 to 2021. On a personal level, she became engaged to her partner Conner Combs in Bangkok shortly after her Miss Universe appearance. The couple married in Anthem, Arizona, in October 2019 and later welcomed a child.
