Madison Marsh

Madison Isabella Marsh is an American pageant titleholder, United States Air Force officer, astrophysicist, and health advocacy champion. She gained national prominence in January 2024 after being crowned Miss America 2024, becoming the first active-duty member of the United States Armed Forces to earn the prestigious national title. Prior to her national win, Marsh was crowned Miss Colorado in 2023. Beyond pageantry, she serves as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force, holds a civilian pilot license, and advocates for pancreatic cancer research through philanthropic leadership.

Early Life and Aviation Career

Born on August 2, 2001, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Marsh developed a strong interest in aviation and space exploration during her childhood. She attended space camps at a young age and earned her civilian pilot license at age 17. After graduating from Southside High School in Fort Smith in 2019, she enrolled at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree in astrophysics and was commissioned as a second lieutenant. Following her graduation from the academy, she pursued higher education as a Truman Scholar at the Harvard Kennedy School, working toward a master's degree in public policy while conducting research as a graduate intern at Harvard Medical School.

Pageantry and Miss America Title

Marsh began competing in beauty pageants while attending the Air Force Academy to engage in community service and refine her public speaking skills. After winning the local Miss Academy title, she advanced to compete for Miss Colorado 2023, where she claimed the state crown in May 2023. Representing Colorado at the Miss America 2024 pageant held in Orlando, Florida, Marsh stood out among fifty-one contestants. During the talent section, she delivered a spoken-word performance about earning her pilot's license. On January 14, 2024, she was crowned Miss America 2024, marking a historical milestone for active-duty military personnel in national beauty pageants.

Advocacy and Personal Life

Following the loss of her mother, Whitney Marsh, to pancreatic cancer in 2018, Marsh turned her grief into public advocacy. She co-founded the Whitney Marsh Foundation in 2019, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for pancreatic cancer research, early detection, and community support in Arkansas. In her personal life, Marsh announced her engagement to Walker Morris in early 2024, and the couple married in July 2025.
