Lexi Thompson

Alexis Noel Thompson is an American professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. Born on February 10, 1995, she grew up in Coral Springs, Florida, near the Eagle Trace Golf Club. The youngest of three siblings, she began playing golf at age five and entered competitive play two years later. Her two brothers, Nicholas and Curtis, also became professional golfers. She was home-schooled to accommodate her training schedule and graduated from high school in July 2012.

Thompson established an active early amateur career, winning the U.S. Kids under-8 World Championship in 2003 and the under-9 title in 2004. In 2007, at age 12, she became the youngest golfer to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open at that time. That year, she also won the Aldila Junior Classic and the Westfield Junior PGA Championship. Thompson turned professional in June 2010 at age 15, becoming the youngest female player to do so, and signed a sponsorship deal with Cobra-PUMA Golf. In September 2011, she won the Navistar LPGA Classic by five strokes, setting a record as the youngest-ever winner of an LPGA Tour event at 16 years, seven months, and eight days old. Three months later, she captured the Dubai Ladies Masters on the Ladies European Tour (LET), becoming the second-youngest winner of an LET event. Granted an age waiver by the LPGA, she earned her full tour membership for the 2012 season after initial qualifying rounds.

In 2013, Thompson debuted as the youngest player to represent the United States in the Solheim Cup, and she recorded LPGA Tour victories at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia and the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. She claimed her first major championship at the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship at age 19, making her the second-youngest LPGA major winner at the time. Her subsequent LPGA victories include the Meijer LPGA Classic and LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship in 2015, the Honda LPGA Thailand in 2016, and the Kingsmill Championship and Indy Women in Tech Championship in 2017.
