Raised in Dallas, Texas, Trammell spent her formative years in the region and graduated from R.L. Turner High School. She developed a diverse background in dance performance, receiving training in jazz, tap, pom, and drill team styles.
Her professional journey with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders began in 1980 when she joined the team as a performing member. Over her four-year tenure on the squad from 1980 to 1984, she took on leadership roles, acting as a group leader and participating as a member of the show group. Following Director Kelli Finglass, Trammell became the second former cheerleader to transition into an administrative position within the organization.
In 1984, Trammell was appointed as the assistant choreographer for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. She served in this capacity until 1991, when she received a promotion to head choreographer, a leadership position she continues to hold today.
Beyond her primary responsibilities with the squad, Trammell has assembled an extensive choreography portfolio across television, live productions, and music videos. Her credits include routines for music videos such as Toby Keith's "Should've Been A Cowboy" and Little Texas' "God Blessed Texas." She has also provided choreography for high-profile musical artists, including Reba McEntire, Randy Travis, LeAnn Rimes, Creed, Jessica Simpson, Destiny's Child, Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood, MC Hammer, and Jerry Lewis.
Trammell's work in broadcast media extends to major awards programs, television shows, and pageants. She has choreographed for the Country Music Awards, the NBC Academy of Country and Western Music Awards, the Salute to Lady Liberty television special, the Oak Ridge Boys Benefit Concert, and the Nashville Palace. In her personal life, Trammell resides in Garland, Texas, with her husband, Dick Trammell, with whom she shares three children. Her daughter, Cassie Trammell, cheered for eight years with Cheer Athletics, winning a national title and two gold medals at the Allstar Cheerleading World Championships with the Panthers. Cassie later performed as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader from 2008 to 2013, serving as a group leader during her fourth and fifth seasons, and her wedding was uniquely featured on the television program Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Brides.
