Jax Taylor

Jason Michael Cauchi, known professionally as Jax Taylor, is an American television personality, model, and actor born on July 11, 1979. He is best known as an original main cast member of the Bravo reality television series Vanderpump Rules.

Taylor graduated from Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township, Michigan, in 1998. He attended Michigan State University and a community college before leaving school. He subsequently served in the United States Navy, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. From 2002 to 2010, he worked as a model traveling between New York City and Europe, signing with Ford Models and modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch.

In 2013, Taylor joined the cast of Vanderpump Rules upon its premiere. He appeared as a main cast member for eight seasons before leaving in December 2020, later returning as a guest in 2024. In 2017, he co-starred in the six-episode spin-off Vanderpump Rules: Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky alongside Brittany Cartwright. He also competed on the first season of the E! reality series House of Villains in 2023.

Taylor was an original main cast member on the spin-off series The Valley, which premiered on March 19, 2024. He appeared through its second season before announcing in July 2025 that he would not return for the third season, citing a focus on his sobriety, mental health, and coparenting. The third season premiered without him in April 2026.

Outside of television, Taylor and Cartwright partnered with the owners of Rocco's Tavern in October 2023 to open the sports bar Jax's Studio City in Studio City, Los Angeles, a partnership Taylor ended in July 2025. In podcasting, Taylor co-hosted When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany starting in March 2023 until Cartwright took over the show in March 2025. In March 2025, PodcastOne launched his solo podcast, initially titled In The Mind of a Man with Jax Taylor and later titled In The Mind Of Jax Taylor.

Taylor married Brittany Cartwright on June 29, 2019, at the Kentucky Castle in Versailles, Kentucky, after beginning their relationship in 2015 and becoming engaged in 2018. The couple has one son, born in April 2021. Cartwright announced their separation in February 2024 and filed for divorce on August 27, 2024, listing January 24, 2024, as the separation date. In March 2026, they reached an agreement for joint legal and physical custody of their son, while the divorce remained pending as of August 2026.

In July 2024, Taylor entered an inpatient mental health treatment facility, and in September 2024 he shared that he had been diagnosed with bipolar II disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. In March 2025, he publicly discussed his past struggles with cocaine addiction, stating he had stopped using cocaine and alcohol. In August 2026, Cartwright obtained a temporary restraining order against Taylor following allegations of domestic violence, which Taylor disputed while agreeing to comply with the order. On September 1, 2026, a judge partially granted a temporary restraining order requested by Taylor against Cartwright alleging harassment and employment interference.
