Jackie Ganter

Jackie Ganter is an American professional rodeo athlete and champion barrel racer. A multi-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) and Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) qualifier, she established herself as one of the top talents in Western equestrian sports by winning the Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) Resistol Rookie of the Year award in 2015. Raised in a rodeo family, Ganter transitioned from English riding to Western barrel racing in her early teens and rapidly achieved national prominence.

Early Life and Equestrian Background

Raised in Abilene, Texas, Ganter began riding horses as a child under the guidance of her mother, Angela Ganter, a veteran professional barrel racer. Before focusing on Western events, Jackie competed in English equestrian disciplines, including dressage, jumping, and eventing until age fourteen. Shifting her focus to barrel racing, she quickly dominated youth competitions. In 2014, she captured several major titles, including the BBR World Championship and the WPRA Junior World Championship.

Professional Rodeo Career

After acquiring her WPRA card at age eighteen, Ganter enjoyed a breakout rookie season in 2015. Riding key horses such as Guys French Jet and Cartels Fame, she qualified for her first National Finals Rodeo and claimed the 2015 WPRA Resistol Rookie of the Year title while finishing eighth in the world standings. She earned a second NFR qualification in 2016, finishing seventh globally. Her career accomplishments include winning the 2023 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo barrel racing championship, the WPRA World Finals card holder race, and victories across PRCA rodeos in the United States and Canada.

Alongside her athletic career, Ganter co-owns and operates an equine boarding and rehabilitation facility in Abilene, Texas, with her mother. Her life on the rodeo trail was featured in a Red Bull documentary exploring Texan rodeo culture, and she represents brands as part of the AgTruckTrader Pro Rodeo Team.
