Iqbaal Ramadhan

Iqbaal Dhiafakhri Ramadhan is an Indonesian actor and singer. He is best known as a former member of the Indonesian boy band CJR, formerly known as Coboy Junior, and for starring as the title character in the 2018 film Dilan 1990. Through his work as a musical performer and actor, he has established a prominent presence in the Indonesian entertainment industry.

Ramadhan was born on 28 December 1999 to Herry Hernawan and Rike Dhamayanti. He grew up alongside his elder sister, Fildza Hasnamudia. In his education, he attended Armand Hammer United World College of the American West in New Mexico on a United World Colleges scholarship, serving as the sole representative from Indonesia in his cohort. He later completed his studies in Communication Science at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, graduating in late 2023.

His public career began in 2010 when he was cast as Trapani in the musical drama Laskar Pelangi, which ran until 2011. During this production, he connected with producer Patrick Effendy. In 2011, Ramadhan starred as Rusdi Badruddin in the film 5 Elang and released a single titled Thank You. On 23 July 2011, he became a founding member of the boy band Coboy Junior alongside members Kiki, Aldi, and Bastian. While performing with the group, he appeared in the drama series Only You and starred in Coboy Junior The Movie, released in June 2013. Following Bastian's departure, the remaining three members rebranded as CJR on 23 February 2014.

In addition to his work with CJR, Ramadhan pursued independent musical projects and community initiatives. He released a single dedicated to his fan base, SoniQ, and spearheaded several positive community programs, including #SoniQSaving, #SoniQGoBetter, and #SoniQSoldiers. In 2015, he formed the pop punk band The Second Breaktime with high school classmates, drawing influence from groups such as All Time Low and 5 Seconds of Summer. He later formed another musical group, Svmmerdose, alongside Tararin, serving as a vocalist and guitarist.

Ramadhan achieved wider national and international acclaim for his acting career in 2018. He starred as Dilan in the teenage drama film Dilan 1990, an adaptation of Pidi Baiq's popular novel Dilanku 1990. His performance earned him the Variety Asian Star: Up Next award at the International Film Festival & Awards Macao in 2018. That same year, it was announced that he was cast as Minke in Bumi Manusia, a film based on the novel by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Outside of performing, he was appointed as a brand ambassador for the digital education platform Ruangguru in 2018.
