As an actress, she starred in feature films including "9 to 5" and "Steel Magnolias." Beyond her music and screen roles, Parton expanded into commerce and entertainment ventures, co-owning the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and launching various hospitality and consumer brand lines.

Parton was also widely noted for her philanthropic initiatives, most prominently through the Dollywood Foundation.
