Brandon Flowers

Brandon Richard Flowers, born on June 21, 1981, is an American singer and songwriter. He is best known as the lead vocalist, keyboardist, and occasional bassist of the Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers, which he co-founded in 2001. Beyond his work with the band, Flowers has established a solo career. His musical style blends alternative rock, synth-pop, new wave, heartland rock, and Americana.

Flowers was born in Henderson, Nevada, as the youngest of six children to Jean Yvonne and Terry Austin Flowers. His family relocated to Payson, Utah, when he was eight years old, and later to Nephi, Utah. At age 16, he returned to Las Vegas to live with his aunt and graduated from Chaparral High School in 1999. Raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Flowers has credited his upbringing and time in Las Vegas with shaping his path in music.

Flowers began his professional music career after responding to an ad placed by guitarist Dave Keuning in late 2001. Joined by bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr., the group officially formed The Killers in 2002. Their debut album, Hot Fuss (2004), achieved critical and commercial success, selling seven million copies worldwide. The band followed with six additional studio albums: Sam's Town (2006), Day & Age (2008), Battle Born (2012), Wonderful Wonderful (2017), Imploding the Mirage (2020), and Pressure Machine (2021). All seven studio albums reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. Flowers wrote the lyrics for notable singles including "Mr. Brightside" and "All These Things That I've Done."

In 2010, Flowers launched his solo career with the studio album Flamingo, which topped the UK Albums Chart and featured the UK top-ten single "Crossfire." His second solo album, The Desired Effect, was released in 2015 and also debuted at number one in the UK. In August 2026, he released his third solo album, Thrasher, recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, which debuted at number three on the UK Albums Chart. Across his work with The Killers and as a solo artist, Flowers has sold over 36 million records globally.

Throughout his career, Flowers has collaborated with a variety of musicians, including Avicii, New Order, Robbie Williams, Chrissie Hynde, Bruce Springsteen, and Elton John. With The Killers, he headlined major events such as the 2010 USO Concert at the White House and a 2013 performance at Wembley Stadium. Flowers and his bandmates have also engaged in philanthropic efforts, including releasing annual Christmas singles from 2006 to 2016 to support Product Red and co-organizing a 2017 benefit concert for victims of the Las Vegas shooting.

Flowers married Tana Mundkowsky in 2005, and the couple has three sons. They reside in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Park City, Utah. Flowers remains an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
