Benson Boone

Benson James Boone is an American singer and songwriter known for blending pop, pop rock, and alternative rock music. He initially gained broad public attention through the social media platform TikTok, which subsequently led to a recording deal with Dan Reynolds's label, Night Street Records. Boone achieved international commercial success with tracks such as "Ghost Town," "In the Stars," and the chart-topping single "Beautiful Things."

Boone was born on June 25, 2002, in Monroe, Washington, to parents Kerry and Nate Boone. He grew up alongside four sisters named Kaylee, Natalee, Emma, and Claire. During his time at Monroe High School, he participated in competitive diving and tennis before graduating in 2020. Boone had no prior vocal experience until his junior year of high school, when a friend encouraged him to sing and play piano in a local battle of the bands. He later briefly attended Brigham Young University–Idaho, but paused his studies after one semester to pursue music full-time.

After finding inspiration at a Jon Bellion concert, Boone committed to developing his singing and began sharing clips on TikTok. In early 2021, he auditioned for the nineteenth season of the reality competition show American Idol. Although he successfully advanced to the Top 24, he opted to withdraw from the show prior to the televised Hollywood Week rounds to manage his career independently.

Boone accumulated 1.7 million followers on TikTok by posting snippets of his original compositions. His online presence caught the attention of Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds, who signed him to Night Street Records in partnership with Warner Records in October 2021. Boone released his debut single, "Ghost Town," that same month, contributing vocals, drums, guitar, and artwork. The song charted in 14 countries, including the United States, where he promoted it on major late-night and daytime television programs. He followed this with subsequent singles, including "Room for 2" and "In the Stars" in 2022.

In January 2024, Boone released "Beautiful Things," which topped charts worldwide in nations such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, and Germany, while peaking at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100. The track served as the lead single for his debut studio album, Fireworks & Rollerblades, which reached number six on the Billboard 200 later that year. Boone's profile continued to rise as he opened for Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in June 2024.

Boone performed at the Coachella festival in 2025, featuring a guest appearance by Queen guitarist Brian May during a rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody." At the festival, he announced his second studio album, American Heart, which was released in June 2025 following singles like "Mystical Magical." To promote the record, Boone launched a headlining world tour across North America and Europe between August and November 2025.

Noted for his tenor vocal range and expressive stage presence, Boone cites artists such as Freddie Mercury, Stevie Wonder, Adele, and Billy Joel as major musical influences. Raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he later discontinued his church membership, though he continues to avoid alcohol and drugs out of personal preference. He relocated to Los Angeles in 2023.
