Chaeryeong, a member of the popular K-pop girl group ITZY, is officially launching her career as a solo artist. Her agency, JYP Entertainment, revealed the news alongside a teaser trailer, full tracklist, and promotional rollout schedule for her upcoming debut mini album, titled 'Lovesick'. The mini album is scheduled to drop worldwide on November 9, 2026, marking a significant milestone in her music career.
The upcoming four-track release features the lead single 'Lovesick', alongside b-side tracks 'Moonlit Club', 'Scent', and 'Favorite Reason'. Chaeryeong took an active creative role in the project by co-writing the lyrics for 'Favorite Reason', showcasing her artistic growth. The album trailer highlights a narrative theme where the artist remains completely unfazed by dramatic everyday occurrences until falling in love with a mysterious entity, setting a playful tone for her solo music debut.
Since debuting with ITZY under JYP Entertainment in 2019, Chaeryeong has earned acclaim for her fluid dance technique, stable live vocals, and charismatic presence on variety broadcasts. ITZY previously achieved major commercial success with hit tracks such as 'Dalla Dalla' and 'Wannabe'. Chaeryeong becomes the third member of the five-piece group to release dedicated solo material, following individual musical debuts by bandmates Yeji and Yuna.
Leading up to the November 9 release date, JYP Entertainment will release a series of concept photos, music video teasers, and album preview clips. Chaeryeong will also host a live countdown broadcast with fans, known collectively as MIDZY, one hour prior to the official evening album launch. Her solo venture represents a expanding chapter for ITZY as individual members continue to explore distinct creative avenues alongside group activities.
