Grammy-winning South African pop artist Tyla officially launched her highly anticipated 34-date A*POP World Tour with a headline performance at the Zénith Paris–La Villette in Paris. Taking the stage in bright neon ensembles reflecting the aesthetic of her sophomore studio album, *A*POP*, the singer treated fans to high-energy performances of hit tracks including "That Girl". The tour, which spans dates across Europe, the United Kingdom, North America, and Africa, marks her largest global headlining venture to date.
Coinciding with the tour's opening show, Tyla announced a major philanthropic project designed to support emerging female musicians. In partnership with Epic Records, she has established the "That Girl" Music Scholarship, named after her featured album track. The program will award financial aid to ten female students pursuing music degrees at colleges and universities situated near selected stops along her tour schedule, with priority given to students enrolled at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Tyla first captured global attention with her breakout 2023 hit single "Water," which entered the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned her the inaugural Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance. Known for blending South African amapiano rhythms with contemporary pop and R&B elements, she followed her self-titled debut record with her summer release *A*POP*, securing her position as one of international pop music's top breakout stars.
Following her opening performances in France and mainland Europe, the A*POP World Tour will travel through major international markets before eventually concluding with homecoming shows in South Africa. Applications for the newly formed scholarship program are set to open in conjunction with her upcoming North American tour legs.
