Music mogul and 25-time Grammy Award winner Jay-Z has officially been named the headline performer for the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show. The National Football League, Apple Music, and Roc Nation confirmed the milestone news on October 26, 2026, during ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast. The performance is scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The announcement represents a full-circle moment for the 56-year-old hip-hop legend. In 2019, Roc Nation entered into a strategic partnership with the NFL to serve as the league's live music entertainment strategists. Over the past seven years, Jay-Z has overseen talent selection and production for halftime spectacles featuring global icons such as Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick Lamar, and Bad Bunny. Now, for the first time since the partnership began, Jay-Z will step from behind the scenes onto the world's biggest musical stage as the main act.

This high-profile gig caps off an extraordinary year of celebrating career milestones for the Brooklyn native. Throughout 2026, Jay-Z has been headlining his acclaimed JAY-Z30 stadium tour, marking the 30th anniversary of his 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of his seminal 2001 release The Blueprint. The tour featured sold-out nights at New York's Yankee Stadium, London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Paris's Stade de France.

Coincidentally, Jay-Z completed the tour's final scheduled dates at SoFi Stadium just days prior to the Super Bowl announcement, performing back-to-back concerts on October 23 and 24. Those shows featured guest appearances from major artists including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, John Legend, and DJ Khaled, along with a piano performance by his daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

With a catalog spanning classic records such as The Black Album and chart-topping anthems like Empire State of Mind, anticipation is already building regarding potential guest stars for his halftime set. As production begins for Super Bowl LXI, fans worldwide are eager to see how one of hip-hop's founding titans constructs his monumental 13-minute performance.
