Academy Award-winning actor and filmmaker Casey Affleck stepped into the international spotlight at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival for the world premiere of his new feature film, Company. Premiering in main competition on September 8, 2026, the atmospheric mystery anthology marks Affleck's latest turn behind the camera, generating significant praise on the Lido as it competes for the festival's prestigious Golden Lion award.

Directed by Affleck and co-written with acclaimed author Ron Hansen, Company features an expansive ensemble cast including Nick Nolte, Ben Mendelsohn, Adelaide Clemens, Scoot McNairy, Emily Alyn Lind, and Caylee Cowan. Set on a harsh winter night in 1975, the plot kicks off when an uninvited visitor arrives at a secluded gathering, weaving three interconnected tales of survival, murder, and frontier folklore that span multiple historical eras.

The production holds special personal meaning for Affleck, as it features on-screen performances from his adult sons, Indiana and Atticus. Speaking at the official press conference at the Palazzo del Casinò, Affleck described working alongside his family as one of the most rewarding experiences of his creative career, noting that both young actors brought a natural instinct to the multi-layered narrative.

Affleck first gained widespread critical acclaim for his Oscar-winning leading performance in Kenneth Lonergan's 2016 drama Manchester by the Sea. Over his decades-long career, he has distinguished himself with memorable roles in films such as The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Gone Baby Gone, and Christopher Nolan's Oscar-winning historical epic Oppenheimer. He previously made his narrative directorial debut with the 2019 dystopian drama Light of My Life.

Following its official screening in the Sala Grande, Company is poised to make a major mark on the autumn awards circuit. With international distribution deals being finalized across global territories, the project cements Affleck's standing as a formidable auteur capable of crafting haunting, character-driven cinematic stories.
