Sumerian Pictures and MACRO released the first official full trailer for the acclaimed psychological drama Josephine, offering audiences a gripping look at Channing Tatum's latest cinematic project. Directed by Beth de Araújo, the film scored top honors at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, winning both the U.S. Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award.
The narrative centers on eight-year-old Josephine, played by newcomer Mason Reeves, who witnesses a violent crime in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Tatum plays her devoted father Damien alongside co-star Gemma Chan as his wife Claire, as the couple navigates the profound emotional trauma and behavioral fallout affecting their daughter while grappling with their personal sense of safety and moral responsibility.
Tatum's career spans more than two decades of major Hollywood blockbusters and indie successes. After establishing his stardom in dance and action films such as Step Up and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, he earned widespread acclaim for his comedic timing in the 21 Jump Street franchise and his charismatic lead performance in Steven Soderbergh's Magic Mike trilogy.
In recent years, Tatum has actively expanded his dramatic portfolio and production endeavors. He co-directed and starred in the road-trip drama Dog, delivered a compelling performance in The Lost City, and starred in the mystery thriller Blink Twice. His leading turn in Josephine showcases a quieter, more vulnerable dimension of his acting repertoire.
Josephine is scheduled for an exclusive theatrical rollout beginning on November 20, 2026, before expanding nationwide on December 4. The compelling trailer release has positioned the film as a major contender for the upcoming awards season.
