Alanis Morissette made major headlines after revealing she identifies as pansexual during a candid conversation on the Handsome podcast, hosted by Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster, and Mae Martin. When asked by Feimster whether difficult romantic relationships with men had ever led her to consider dating women, the Grammy-winning singer responded directly that she is pansexual, adding with a smile that she enjoyed keeping the revelation for the episode's epilogue.
The casual moment coincided with another major milestone in Morissette's career, as she officially released her first holiday album, titled Good Weather for Immaculate Conception, on November 6, 2026, through Epiphany Music and Virgin Music. The 14-track festive record pairs traditional holiday classics such as "O Holy Night" and "Silent Night" alongside original compositions including "Christmas on the Dance Floor" and "To an Empath at Christmas Time."
The project showcases a diverse group of guest collaborators, featuring vocal contributions from Brandi Carlile, Joy Oladokun, and Amythyst Kiah, as well as instrumental work from Steve Martin and comedy appearances by Martin Short. The album also features the UK-based vocal ensemble Trans Voices, making it a richly layered artistic enterprise that expands Morissette's extensive discography.
Morissette, 52, rose to international superstardom with her landmark 1995 album Jagged Little Pill, which generated global hits like "You Oughta Know" and "Ironic" and earned seven Grammy Awards. Over the past three decades, she has established herself as one of alternative rock's most influential voices, earning accolades such as induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2026 and maintaining a constant presence on international concert stages.
Away from the studio, Morissette has been married to hip-hop artist Mario "Souleye" Treadway since June 2010, and the couple share three children together: sons Ever and Winter, and daughter Onyx. Following the release of her holiday LP, Morissette kicked off a fresh concert series titled Butterfly with a Machete at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, combining her signature musical catalogue with personal storytelling for fans.
