Julien Bam

Julien Zheng Zheng Kho Budorovits, known professionally as Julien Bam, is a German internet personality, actor, singer, and dancer. He is best known for creating music videos and large-scale digital projects on YouTube, where he established a major online presence.

Bam was born on 23 November 1988 in Aachen. He was briefly raised in Singapore, which is the birthplace of his mother, who is of Chinese Indonesian descent. His father is from the Czech Republic and has Czech, Romanian, and Russian ancestry. Bam has a brother named Shawn, who also works as a video content creator.

Bam launched his YouTube channel in 2013, publishing music videos and various major production projects. Alongside his digital content creation, he operated a dance school in Cologne between 2018 and 2019, though it eventually closed due to financial difficulties. During the 2017 German presidential election, he served as a delegate for the Social Democratic Party to the Federal Convention.

Throughout his career, Bam expanded into television, voice acting, and media projects. In 2018, he served as a jury member on the television dance competition show Masters of Dance. Between 2020 and 2024, he provided the German-language dubbing voice for the title character in Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. He also starred as himself in the 2021 Netflix series Life's a Glitch.

Bam has earned numerous accolades for his work. In 2015, he received the Bravo Otto award for Best Social Media Star, as well as a 1LIVE Krone award for Best Video, an award he won again in 2016. In 2016, he was named Person of the Year at the Webvideopreis Deutschland, and he earned the Golden Camera Digital Award at the same event in 2017. He was the most-viewed German YouTuber in 2017, producing six of the top ten most popular non-traditional music videos of the year curated by Google. Additionally, he won the Favorite Big Kid award at the Kids' Choice Awards in 2018 and 2020.

In 2019, Bam announced plans to step back from his primary YouTube channel due to health concerns and a heavy workload. Although he initially intended to release three final videos to finish an ongoing series, he went on to create 16 new videos prior to his retirement in 2025. In 2025, he donated his gaming channel, JuTubeGaming, to fellow YouTuber Sturmwaffel.
