Sydney Sweeney's twisty thriller world is expanding. "The Housemaid's Secret," the sequel to hit adaptation "The Housemaid," has added "Pitch Perfect" and "The Hunting Wives" star Brittany Snow to its cast, the trades confirmed in early August.

Snow will play a character named Marybeth opposite Sweeney, who reprises her role as Wilhelmina "Millie" Calloway. She joins a stacked ensemble that already includes Kirsten Dunst, Michele Morrone and Paul Anthony Kelly, with Paul Feig returning to direct for Lionsgate.

The sequel is based on Freida McFadden's best-selling 2023 novel of the same name. Per the official logline, Millie "returns, taking a job keeping house for a woman she's never allowed to see, only to discover the truth behind the locked door that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own." The film is slated to hit theaters on December 17, 2027.

The casting news caps a relentless stretch for Sweeney, one of Hollywood's most in-demand actors, whose 2026 slate has spanned prestige drama, horror and the boxing biopic "Christy." Reprising Millie also gives the star a rare franchise anchor, positioning "The Housemaid" series as a recurring showcase for the range that has made her a fixture on marquees and magazine covers alike.
