Italian supermodel Bianca Balti has been named the recipient of the eleventh annual Lilt for Women Award in Milan, presented by the Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer (LILT). The honor was bestowed upon the fashion icon in recognition of her courage, openness, and continuous advocacy following her health journey and diagnosis of stage 3C ovarian cancer. Attending the official ceremony in Milan, Balti accepted the award while highlighting the vital necessity of psychological support for oncology patients navigating life after intensive medical treatment.

The award criteria specifically cited Balti for demonstrating how beauty and strength can be discovered through life's standard hurdles. Since publicly sharing her emergency room visit and subsequent medical journey, the model has turned her platform into an active force for health literacy. She established the Mind Your Cancer foundation, an organization created to partner with healthcare institutions like LILT Milan to deliver essential psychological assistance and resources to individuals affected by serious diagnoses.

Balti, who began her modeling career in 2005, has long been one of the fashion industry's most recognizable figures. Over two decades, she has walked runways for premier fashion houses including Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, and Victoria’s Secret, while appearing on covers of major fashion magazines worldwide. In recent years, she has increasingly focused her public platform on health advocacy, having previously undergone a preventative bilateral mastectomy after testing positive for the BRCA1 gene mutation.

Looking ahead, Balti's partnership with LILT Milan will focus on expanding support networks that address the post-treatment emotional transition for patients. By continuing to speak candidly about recovery and public visibility, she aims to break social stigmas around illness and encourage women globally to prioritize proactive health screenings and mental care throughout every stage of treatment.
