Benito Skinner has been officially named the recipient of the Media Award for the 45th Annual Black Tie Dinner. Event organizers announced the honor ahead of the upcoming charity gala, which is scheduled to take place on November 14 at the Sheraton Dallas.
Skinner, widely recognized for his comedic satire and digital sketches, created and stars in the Amazon Prime Video comedy series Overcompensating, produced in partnership with A24. His television project and public platform have drawn widespread praise for bringing nuanced LGBTQ+ experiences and humor to mainstream audiences.
The Black Tie Dinner Media Award is presented annually to figures whose work significantly elevates LGBTQ+ representation and storytelling in media. Previous honorees have included prominent advocates, artists, and media personalities who utilize their creative visibility to foster inclusion and community dialogue.
Skinner is set to accept the honor in person at the North Texas fundraising event in November, which raises vital funds for local and national LGBTQ+ beneficiary organizations.
