Bonnie Chen (Chinese: 陈碧舸), also known as Chen Bige, is a Chinese fashion model, television host, actress, and filmmaker. Born on March 3, 1985, in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China, she initially achieved national prominence as a decorated rhythmic gymnast before establishing a successful international modeling career. Over her multi-faceted career, Chen has transitioned from top global runways to hosting television shows, acting in television dramas, directing independent short films, and championing environmental and charitable causes.

Early Life and Education

Raised in Nanjing, Chen spent ten years training as a professional rhythmic gymnast, eventually competing as a national-level athlete for China. Her entry into fashion occurred in 2001 when she competed in the Elite Model Look competition, winning first place in the Hong Kong division and placing ninth globally. Despite immediate modeling offers, Chen prioritized her education, moving to the United States to study at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology before fully embarking on her professional international modeling career.

After completing her university studies, Chen signed with major agencies including Next Model Management and Ford Models.
