Musician Travis Barker took to social media on October 8, 2026, to reassure fans regarding his health after posting photos from a hospital bed alongside his wife Kourtney Kardashian and daughter Alabama Barker. The fifty-year-old Blink-182 drummer explained that he underwent a successful cubital tunnel release surgery to address lingering nerve numbness in his arm, hand, and fingers that began following a concert performance last month.

Barker first rose to international prominence as the powerhouse drummer for pop-punk icons Blink-182, joining co-founders Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge in 1998 ahead of their massive breakthrough album Enema of the State. Over the past three decades, he has established himself as one of the most prolific and influential drummers across modern rock, punk, and hip-hop, collaborating with a wide spectrum of artists ranging from Machine Gun Kelly and Avril Lavigne to Lil Wayne and Travis Scott.

Beyond his extensive studio recorded catalog and relentless worldwide touring schedule, Barker has continually expanded his footprint into record label ownership, fashion collaborations, music production, and wellness brands. His high-profile personal life has also kept him in the media spotlight, particularly following his televised 2022 wedding to reality personality Kourtney Kardashian, with whom he welcomed a son, Rocky, in late 2023. Barker has frequently shared candid updates with fans regarding the physical demands of drumming and balancing his career with family responsibilities.

The decision to undergo surgical intervention followed weeks of discomfort after Barker noticed persistent numbness in his playing hand during recent live performances, including a high-octane set at a Ramones tribute event at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. After undergoing formal nerve conductivity testing earlier in the week, medical specialists diagnosed him with ulnar nerve compression and advised immediate surgery to prevent permanent nerve damage and protect his fine motor skills.

Taking a proactive approach to his health, Barker explained to fans that he wanted to resolve the issue as quickly as possible so that he could maintain his explosive drumming style for many years to come. With his family providing constant support during his hospital stay, the veteran musician expressed enthusiasm for his rehabilitation process, reassuring followers that he expects a full recovery within a few weeks before returning to the stage.
