Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Noah Kahan has officially released Draw You Out, the lead single from the upcoming film soundtrack album for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Issued on October 2, 2026, through MCA, the acoustic-driven song was written and produced by Kahan alongside long-time collaborator and Grammy Award winner Aaron Dessner. Recorded at Long Pond Studio in New York and Gold Pacific Studios in Nashville, the track offers fans their first musical preview of the highly anticipated Lionsgate film adaptation.
Kahan, a Vermont native, rose to mainstream international prominence following the release of his third studio album, Stick Season, in 2022. The folk-pop record became a global commercial juggernaut, achieving multi-platinum certification and catapulting Kahan into arena-headlining status. Known for his introspective lyrics, vivid storytelling, and folk-infused melodies, Kahan earned a nomination for Best New Artist at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. His recent work on the 2026 release The Great Divide further cemented his position as one of contemporary music's most successful roots-pop singer-songwriters.
In creating Draw You Out, Kahan crafted a song specifically tailored to the narrative themes of Suzanne Collins' prequel novel, which focuses on a young Haymitch Abernathy during the 50th Annual Hunger Games. Kahan revealed in interviews that writing music for a major motion picture soundtrack fulfilled a long-standing creative goal. He collaborated closely with film executives and producer Dave Cobb, who serves as the executive producer for the soundtrack album, to capture the complex emotional weight of the central characters.
The complete compilation album, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album), is scheduled for official release on November 13, 2026. The 29-track collection features original, previously unreleased compositions from a diverse roster of artists across folk, country, alternative, and pop music genres. The movie itself, directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Joseph Zada alongside Mckenna Grace, Ralph Fiennes, and Kieran Culkin, is scheduled to hit theaters and IMAX worldwide on November 20, 2026.
The release of Draw You Out marks another high-profile moment in Kahan's expanding career, bridging his signature acoustic sound with major Hollywood cinema. As Kahan continues his extensive international touring commitments, the track is expected to receive significant airplay and streaming traction ahead of the film's theatrical debut. The release reinforces the Hunger Games franchise's historic tradition of showcasing influential roots and alternative musicians.
