About IVE (group)
IVE is a prominent six-member South Korean girl group formed by Starship Entertainment. The group officially debuted on December 1, 2021, with the release of their single album Eleven. Composed of members An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo, the ensemble quickly established a formidable presence in the global K-pop industry through an overarching identity centered on self-confidence, modern pop sensibilities, and sleek visual styling. The name IVE is a stylized contraction of I Have, signifying the group's intention to show audiences everything they have to offer right from the start rather than presenting a story of incremental growth.
Formation and Members
Starship Entertainment assembled IVE in late 2021, bringing together six distinct talents who each contribute unique vocal, rap, and dance dynamics to the group. Prior to IVE's debut, An Yujin and Jang Wonyoung had already gained substantial national and international recognition through their participation in the 2018 competition show Produce 48 and their subsequent tenure in the temporary project group Iz*One. Following the conclusion of Iz*One's activities in early 2021, Starship announced both members as cornerstone figures for their upcoming girl group.
An Yujin serves as IVE's leader and main vocalist, frequently recognized for her stable live performances, expressive vocal range, and active involvement in television broadcasts. Jang Wonyoung, serving as a vocalist and visual anchor, became an influential style icon and frequent commercial ambassador across fashion and cosmetic brands worldwide. Gaeul, the group's eldest member, acts as main dancer and rapper, contributing steady rhythm work and intricate choreography execution. Rei, a Japanese native, functions as a main rapper and vocalist, bringing a distinct vocal timbre and bilingual charm to the team's sound. Liz functions as a main vocalist, noted for her rich tone and high vocal versatility, while Leeseo, the youngest member, provides sharp vocal delivery and energetic dance performances.
Discography and Key Milestones
IVE experienced immediate domestic and international success upon their debut. The title track of their initial single album, Eleven, secured multiple music show wins in South Korea and entered major international music rankings, including the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 charts. The group sustained this momentum with their second single album, Love Dive, released in April 2022. The title track achieved wide acclaim, topping South Korea's Circle Digital Chart and earning prestigious Song of the Year accolades at several major Asian award ceremonies.
In August 2022, IVE released After Like, which built upon their signature pop sound by sampling Gloria Gaynor's classic disco anthem I Will Survive. The track became another chart-topping hit and pushed the group's cumulative physical record sales past the multi-million mark. Moving into 2023, the group released their first full-length studio album, I've IVE, led by the pre-release single Kitsch and the title track I AM. Both songs achieved perfect all-kills across major South Korean streaming real-time and daily charts, solidifying their standing as top-tier music acts in the region.
Subsequent mini-albums, such as I've Mine in late 2023 and IVE Switch in early 2024, continued to showcase their expanding musical repertoire with singles like Either Way, Baddie, Off The Record, and HEYA. In February 2026, IVE released their studio album REVIVE+, preceded by the pre-release track BANG BANG and promoted alongside the lead track Blackhole. The album featured group compositions as well as solo material debuted during live concert runs, demonstrating the group's ongoing artistic evolution.
World Tours and Global Impact
Beyond studio releases, IVE has established a robust international touring presence. Following their inaugural Asian fan-con tour in 2023, the group embarked on their first major world tour, Show What I Have, spanning late 2023 through 2024. The tour saw them perform across Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia, drawing over 400,000 attendees across dozens of cities and culminating in multi-night arena performances.
Building on that international foundation, IVE launched their second global concert production, the Show What I Am World Tour, which kicked off with a multi-night stint at Seoul's KSPO Dome in late 2025. The tour expanded globally throughout 2026, taking the group to key arenas across Asia, Oceania, and North America. In addition to solo concert tours, IVE has represented contemporary K-pop on major international festival stages, performing energetic live sets at high-profile music gatherings such as Lollapalooza in Chicago.
Cultural Position and Legacy
IVE is frequently cited by industry analysts as a defining act of K-pop's fourth generation. Their narrative framework—shifting away from traditional K-pop themes of hardship or coming-of-age toward unbridled self-love, poise, and individual empowerment—has resonated strongly with young audiences worldwide. Their consistent chart accomplishments, combined with high-fashion endorsements, major broadcasting roles, and international award recognition, ensure that IVE remains a dominant cultural force in global pop music.
