Actress and model Camila Morrone has officially joined the cast of the upcoming feature film Miami Vice '85, directed by Joseph Kosinski. Morrone secured the role following final chemistry tests alongside co-star Austin Butler, joining a lead cast that also stars Michael B. Jordan.
Universal Pictures and Kosinski are developing the feature film as a modern cinematic reimagining of the iconic 1980s television crime series. Written by Dan Gilroy and Eric Warren Singer, the production revisits the undercover law enforcement narrative in South Florida, featuring Butler as James "Sonny" Crockett and Jordan as Ricardo Tubbs.
Morrone’s casting continues her sustained momentum in high-profile dramatic screen projects following her Emmy-nominated breakout performance as Camila Alvarez-Dunne in Prime Video’s 2023 rock-drama series Daisy Jones & The Six. She recently starred in Netflix's thriller series Something Very Bad is Going to Happen and completed production on the second season of The Night Manager opposite Tom Hiddleston.
The project represents another major milestone in Morrone’s ongoing career transition from international fashion modeling into top-tier studio feature films. Universal Pictures has slated the action crime drama for global theatrical release, adding another significant feature title to Morrone's growing cinematic resume.
