Alfie Templeman

Alfie George Templeman (born January 26, 2003) is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. Rising to prominence as a teenager in the late 2010s, Templeman gained recognition for his DIY bedroom-pop recording style and versatile multi-instrumental abilities. Blending elements of indie pop, disco-pop, funk, and indie rock, he has built an international fanbase through hit singles, extended plays, and acclaimed studio albums.

Early Life

Alfie Templeman was born and raised in the village of Carlton in Bedfordshire, England. Growing up in a musically inclined household, he was exposed early to his father's extensive collection of guitars and began learning the drums at seven years old. By age eight, he had picked up the guitar, teaching himself to play by turning left-handed guitars upside down. Self-taught on nearly a dozen instruments, Templeman started recording instrumental demos at home around age ten. At thirteen, he began mastering music production software to compose complete tracks, later taking singing lessons at his mother's encouragement to add vocals to his sound.

Career

Templeman made his professional solo recording debut in 2018 at fifteen years old with the single "Like an Animal," released through the independent record label Chess Club. He followed this debut with a sequence of extended plays, including Sunday Morning Cereal and Don't Go Wasting Time in 2019, followed by Happiness in Liquid Form in 2020. His popular tracks, such as "Happiness in Liquid Form," "3D Feelings," and "Colour Me Blue," received extensive airplay on UK national radio stations including BBC Radio 1. In May 2022, Templeman released his debut studio album, Mellow Moon, which topped the UK Independent Albums chart. He expanded his experimental sound on his sophomore studio album, Radiosoul, released in June 2024, which featured a notable collaboration with legendary producer and guitarist Nile Rodgers on the track "Just a Dance."

Artistry and Live Performances

Renowned for writing, playing, and co-producing much of his discography independently, Templeman has performed at major music festivals and venues across the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, Japan, and Australia. In addition to his primary solo work, he releases experimental instrumental projects under the moniker Ariel Days and has contributed songwriting and production work for other recording artists. Outside of music production, he maintains an active digital presence, connecting with listeners via his official social media platforms and YouTube channel.
