Born in Texas and raised partly in South Korea before returning to the United States, Lim established herself as one of the digital fashion era's pioneering creators. Through her editorial aesthetic and brand partnerships, she has built a massive global audience across social media platforms, including over 1.6 million followers on Instagram.

Early Life and Education

Chriselle Lim was born on April 10, 1985, in Texas. During her elementary and middle school years, she lived in Seoul, South Korea, for four years before returning to the United States. Following in her mother's footsteps in the fashion world, she attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles from 2004 to 2008. She initially focused on the commercial side of fashion with plans to become a wardrobe buyer or editorial contributor before transitioning into digital media creation.

Career and Content Creation

Lim began her career in fashion as a commercial stylist and fashion editor for GENLUX magazine in Beverly Hills. Encouraged by fellow digital creator Michelle Phan, Lim launched her YouTube channel in 2010 and founded her popular fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blog, The Chriselle Factor, in December 2011. Over the years, Lim has partnered with major luxury fashion and beauty houses including Dior, Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany & Co. Her influence was notably recognized by Mattel, which styled two official Barbie dolls in her honor, and in 2016 she was named Blogger of the Year at the Bloglovin' Awards.

Business Ventures and Entrepreneurship

Beyond content creation, Lim has established herself as a successful business leader. In 2021, she joined the clean fragrance company PHLUR as its owner and creative director, driving a major brand refresh and expansion into fine fragrances. She also co-founded Bümo, a family and workplace initiative offering flexible solutions for working parents, including co-working spaces with licensed childcare services, alongside producing the Being Bümo podcast.

Personal Life

Lim resides in Los Angeles, California. She was married to Allen Chen in 2012, with whom she shares two daughters, Chloe and Colette. The couple separated in 2021.
